ANDROS
Always island of ship owners and ship captains - but now sought after destination for a stay to the Athenians - Andros is the northernmost of the Cyclades island is green and the many beaches, the most famous located around Batsi.
Originally the mining of copper and iron, then an ally of Sparta in the Peloponnesian War, Andros is atypical for Cycladic island for its vegetation, the red tiles on the roofs of its neo-classical houses.
In 1833 were found on two statues (at first attributed to Praxiteles even).
